If you opt for our EliteWood range, you can choose from 11 beautiful stained wood finishes to complement your home’s style.
We offer three louvre sizes—63mm, 76mm, and 89mm—all included in our pricing. Louvre size is mostly a personal preference, but here’s a general guide: Larger 89mm louvres are ideal for modern homes, especially when paired with a fully concealed control system. Smaller 63mm louvres suit a more traditional look, particularly with a centre rod on a tier-on-tier style. Our most popular choice, the versatile 76mm louvre, offers the perfect balance, complementing both large and small windows beautifully.
A common FAQ regarding louvre size is: Do smaller louvres block out more light? Statistically, yes—but realistically, the difference is hardly noticeable. From fitting thousands of shutters, we’ve found that the biggest factor affecting natural light in a room is actually the colour of the shutters. Dark colours absorb light, while our bright, clean whites reflect it, helping to brighten the space when the louvres are positioned to do so.
We offer two main louvre control options: the traditional visible centre rod and the fully concealed control rod.
The fully concealed control rod is by far the most popular choice, offering a sleek, modern look. It also works seamlessly with our free privacy split upgrade for enhanced light and privacy control.
The visible centre rod provides a classic appearance, making it a great choice for period properties or more traditional shutter styles like tier-on-tier.
Common FAQ: What is a Privacy Split?
A privacy split allows the louvres to tilt at different angles independently, providing better light and privacy control. However, when all louvres are aligned, the split becomes invisible, maintaining a seamless look. (take a look)-button which reveals an image.
While shutters naturally block out a lot of light, they aren’t fully blackout. For a near-complete blackout experience, we offer an upgrade with a fully integrated blackout blind built discreetly within the shutter frame. This option blends seamlessly with your non-blackout shutters for a sleek, unified look. Plus, you can take it a step further with motorized blackout blinds that can be connected to your smart home system for added convenience and control.
